Tom Muller, Executive Director, Atria Senior Living in Waldwick
After many years in operations management, my career path changed for the better when my wife encouraged me to volunteer at the assisted living community where she worked. Before long, I began to feel a sense of personal and professional fulfillment, and I realized I wanted to work with older adults’ full time.
Atria was my natural choice. Their reputation in the industry for quality, service and doing things right is unmatched – and it’s about much more than offering first class amenities. It’s about creating a vibrant environment where residents enjoy opportunities to stay fit, eat well, pursue their goals and connect with their neighbors every single day.
When I had the privilege to serve as director at my first Atria community, I started each morning with a walk through the building, catching up with residents and listening to stories about their families and experiences. It was my way of letting them know I cared about them as individuals – I plan to continue this ritual at Atria Waldwick.
I look forward to directing Atria’s beautiful new community in Waldwick. Opening in December, Atria Waldwick will offer opportunities to stay active, eat well, connect with neighbors and achieve personal goals, right outside their apartment door, every day.
For families facing the challenges of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, Atria Waldwick will offer Life Guidance – a forward-thinking memory care program featuring a secure, structured environment, specially trained staff and daily opportunities for social engagement.
